Which brass instrument should I start with?

How old should you be to start brass lessons in Liverpool?
Most children start brass from age 7–8 onward, once their lungs are strong enough to produce a consistent tone. Some instruments (like tuba or French horn) are better suited to slightly older starters due to size and embouchure demands. Adults of any age are very welcome.
Brass instruments are expensive — do I need to buy one before starting?
