How old do I need to be to start guitar lessons in Liverpool?
We teach students from age 6 upward. Younger children (6–9) typically start on a half-size or three-quarter-size acoustic. There is absolutely no upper age limit — many of our adult beginners in Liverpool start in their 40s, 50s, and beyond.
Should I learn acoustic or electric guitar first?
We recommend starting on acoustic as it builds finger strength and doesn't require any additional equipment (amp, cables). That said, if electric is your passion, start there — you'll be more motivated and that matters most.
Do I need to buy a guitar before my first lesson?
Your tutor can advise you on the best beginner guitar for your budget during or before the first lesson. You don't need anything expensive to start — a decent beginner acoustic or electric costs from around £80–£150 new.
How long until I can play a full song?
Most students can play a simple recognisable song within 2–4 lessons. More complex songs with full chord transitions and strumming patterns typically come within the first 2–3 months of regular weekly practice.
Do you teach guitar grades and ABRSM exams?
Yes — our tutors can prepare you for ABRSM, RockSchool, and Trinity College London guitar grades if that's your goal. Many students prefer to learn without formal exams, and that's equally valid.
Can I do online guitar lessons?
